Covid Service Update

Grampian Sexual Health: Service Remobilisation Update.

The Grampian Sexual Health services are open and delivering all care, including our outreach clinics in Elgin, Banff, Fraserburgh and Peterhead. In line with Government Guidelines, we are still minimising face-to-face contact and as always are prioritising those with the most urgent care needs, therefore this means the way we see you may be different. Your appointment may take place virtually via phone or video link, we may post you tests to take yourself or offer you the option to pick up medication from your local pharmacy. If you have any questions or difficulties with these new ways we deliver care please don’t hesitate to discuss with us.

Some appointments are now available to be booked on our Online Booking System

If you can’t find the correct appointment online or have an urgent issue please call us on 03453379900.

To keep you safe our services are set up for social distancing with one way signs, plastic screens where appropriate and our staff will be wearing masks/visors. You are also asked to wear a face covering when you attend. We ask you attend on your own unless this has been agreed in advance.

During this time, our drop in clinics are suspended. If you have an urgent issue please phone our reception team on 03453379900 and we will arrange for you to be seen.

Do not delay getting in touch if you have an urgent issue including unplanned pregnancy, emergency contraception, running out of your usual contraception, have symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection, have been sexually assaulted or want to discuss emergency treatment to reduce the risk of HIV infection after unprotected sex (PEP). If you are in doubt as to whether you need to be seen by the sexual health service telephone 03453379900. Our staff will be able to advise you.

STI and HIV Testing:

If you don’t have symptoms but have had unprotected sex and want an STI and/or HIV test, we may be able to offer you an at home postal testing kit. This can be sent to your home to complete and return. Please call our reception team for more information.

If you are experiencing symptoms of an STI, it is important that you see a healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment.
