The Nexplanon® implant is now licensed for 5 years for contraception in the UK, following strong evidence showing it remains safe and effective, with no pregnancies reported in years 4–5 of use.
This is great news for women who are currently using the implant for contraception as it can be kept for 5 years before it needs changing.
